Good effects of the earthquake

It would seem that the catastrophe, which is an earthquake, does not bring any good. However, it appears that thanks to the seismic shocks Chile ... has grown!

27 February 2010 in the central regions of the South American country, the earth shook. The force of those shocks was incredible - it was estimated at 8.8 on the Richter scale. The destruction was enormous. The world rushed to help communities affected by the disaster.

A few months after the disaster, surprising data appeared. Chile has received from nature, compensation for their losses. As a result of tectonic movements the area of the country increased by 1.5 square kilometer.

As if to keep the balance powerful earthquake shifted the planet's axis of rotation, so that the day was shortened by 1.26 milliseconds.
